EV residents estimated at ~1.5% of occupied units, growing with EV adoption. "Rent secured" quantifies rent paid by EV-driving residents this amenity helps attract and retain — not incremental cash flow. Final terms per the Florida Chargers Share the Revenue agreement.

ROI calculator — frequently asked questions

How the numbers work, what's included, and what a real proposal looks like.

How accurate is this EV charging ROI calculator?
The calculator uses conservative, industry-standard assumptions — 15 kWh/day per port at $0.44/kWh, ~1.5% EV residents of occupied units, and 2 incremental EV guest nights per port per month for hotels. It's an illustrative directional projection, not a guarantee. A site-specific proposal from Florida Chargers refines it with your actual utility rate, port mix, and permitting scope.
What revenue share does the property earn from EV charging?
Under Share the Revenue, the property keeps 50% of net charging profit for the full term — with no further payments or capital contribution. Net profit is gross session revenue less electricity and network fees.
Are there utility rebates or make-ready credits available in Florida?
Yes. Duke Energy currently offers roughly $1,175 per port and FPL roughly $1,200 per port through their commercial make-ready programs. OUC and several other Florida territories do not have a comparable program today. Florida Chargers files the applications on your behalf and the utility pays the property directly.
How many charging ports does my property need?
A common starting point is one port per 30–40 units for multifamily and one per 20 rooms for hotels, scaled to visible parking and expected EV adoption. Load-sharing on your existing electrical service usually lets you install more ports without service upgrades. We size the final count during the free site assessment.
How is 'rent secured from EV-driving residents' different from new revenue?
It is not new cash flow. It quantifies the annual rent already paid by the EV-driving residents this amenity helps you attract and retain. It's shown separately from charging revenue so boards and owners can see the full retention value of the amenity, not just the session income.
